Horses:

Horses can be used to ride on. To be able to ride a horse you need to tame it.

To tame a horse tap on a horse with some wheat (or sometimes apples) to feed it. When you see some heart particles then you know it likes you and you can place a saddle on the horse.

Ride the horse by tapping on it with an empty hand. If you want to, you can use a whip to hit the horse for increased speed.

– Horse Spawn Egg (2805).
– Whip (2705) – 1 leather + 1 string + 1 stick.
– Diamond Horse Armor (2701) – 1 yellow wool + 6 diamonds.
– Golden Horse Armor (2702) – 1 red wool + 6 gold ingots.
– Iron Horse Armor (2703) – 1 gray wool + 6 iron ingots.
– Emerald Horse Armor (2704) – 1 blue wool + 6 emeralds.

You can give tamed horses better protection. Currently there are four tiers of armor (diamond/gold/iron/emerald). Tap on a horse to equip the armor.

Elephants:

If you ever find yourself in a savannah biome but in need to go somewhere else then look out for some elephants. Similar to horses, elephants can also be tamed and used to ride on.

Feed an elephant with some sugar lumps to tame it. Once you see some friendly hearts then you can tap on the elephants with an elephant saddle. Then tap on the elephant with an empty hand to ride it.

– Elephant Spawn Egg (2800).
– Elephant Saddle (2747) – 2 leather + 5 white wool + 2 iron ingots.
– Sugar Lump (2748) – 1 sugar.

Ostriches:

Ostriches are flightless birds which while it’s not as common can be ridden on, similarly to a horse. They are quite fast animals so make sure to be safe.

To tame an ostrich you will need to feed it some ostrich eggs. Then tap on the ostrich with a normal saddle and then tap on it again with an empty hand to ride it.

– Ostrich Spawn Egg (2803).
– Ostrich Egg (2743) – dropped by ostriches.
